Hestasport was one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed in my life; it would be the perfect place for a writer's retreat or to rent with a large group of friends. We planned a shorter day of sight-seeing the day we arrived in order to allow time for an hour-long horseback ride upon arrival, and it was SO worth it! Wonderful guide, lovely and responsive horses, gorgeous scenery. We ended up in the largest cabin, which was absolutely gorgeous and had a fully stocked kitchen (they even included creamer for the coffee!!!!). The beds were very comfortable; the shower was good; the view was fabulous; the staff's dinner recommendation was spot-on...and OMG the soaking pool!!! It's exactly as advertised; I could have stayed in that pool the entire time we were there. It was the perfect temperature; the stone was wonderfully textured and the seat just at the right height; easily big enough for 4 people without feeling crowded. The lupine were in full bloom circling the pool and the red-throat was singing above me as I lay back in the water, the cool air refreshing on my warm skin, just watching the world around me turn pink and gold and lavender in the evening light. To say it was sublime would be an epic understatement.

We loved our cottage! It was rustic but modern and clean. The cooking facilities and equipment were great for self catering as there isn't really much around if you want to eat out. The location is beautiful and it includes a lovely hot pool with gorgeous view. Whilst the reception/check- in is in a different location (*read the directions given) it's very easy to find and the hosts are wonderful. I went for a ride on an Icelandic Horse at the stables that are apart of accomodation which was beautiful. We had a problem with our car and the very kind man in reception organised for someone to sort it out for us. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's fabulous.

Very nice spot. The house is a dreamhouse in the middle of the land. To see northern lights is a really good spot. There is a viking bathtub or natural hot water bathtub in the middle of the area. The house is really beautiful. Check in instructions might be a little bit tricky for some people but we did not have any issues finding the house, they are accurate. The only thing we did not lik is that we found out serveral flies inside the house and I had to take them out. The rest, only beautiful.

This was our third visit to Hestasport cottages, we love it! This time we stayed in Rafthus, a 2 bedroom cottage. It is just lovely, warm and cozy; the little kitchen, the sitting areas and comfy bedrooms. We loved spending time in the glorious hot pot. The horse riding is wonderful, highly recommended. There is not much nearby, which is part of the appeal--but make sure you bring some snacks and drinks. They did have coffee and tea in the kitchen.

Host was friendly, cottage was amazing! The natural hot tub was 104ºF (40ºc) constantly and they provide shoes and robes to wear to walk out to the hot tub. Although there were other guests in other cottages, we had the hot tub all to ourselves (but it's big, could seat a dozen adults!) House construction was sturdy (not cheap like some of the cottages we've stayed in here in Iceland); furniture also very sturdy and comfy. Wifi worked great.
